Chapters 18. "Work" Brought Disaster

Meanwhile at Sean Conley's main house, Daniella has just returned home from school. That day he arrived early at home, after the school repatriated the students following an unfortunate incident that befell one of his classmates. After changing clothes, Daniella enjoyed lunch provided by their housekeeper, Emma.

Daniella hasn't seen her dad in all day. Because when he left school this morning, the man was still fast asleep in his room. And this afternoon after he came home from school, he had not met his father. Longing for the father, Dani encourages him to ask Emma where the man is.

"Bi, have you seen my father?" Ask Dani while eating primanti sandwich, handmade Emma who uses bread type Italian Bread, coated with thin roast, melted cheddar cheese, cabbage salad, french fries, and sliced tomatoes.

"Mr Conley's in his lab, miss." Emma answered briefly while putting a glass of orange juice in front of Daniella.

"Really, Bi?"

"Yes. After finishing his breakfast this morning, Mister went straight into his laboratory, Miss. And until now he hasn't been out of there."

Emma looked at the glaring gaze from Dani's eyes. Then he continued his words.

"Master also told me no one would bother him for the next few hours. Because he has an important work to be done immediately."

"Is my dad alone in there, Bi? Just after school, I saw a lady coat on the front hanger."

"It belongs to a colleague of Mr. who just arrived an hour ago. He rushed in as soon as he got here. Looks like Mr. Conley asked the woman to come see him."

Hearing the reply from Emma Daniella just kept quiet as she chewed her lunch quietly with an expressionless face. What Dani did did did not go unnoticed by Emma.

"Miss, let's finish your lunch."

"Good, Bi. " Answer Daniella briefly.

"After this I plan to go out for a while. Mr. Conley asked me to prepare a special dinner. There are some foods I need to buy. Looks like you're planning on taking his girlfriend to dinner together."

There was no reaction whatsoever that Daniella displayed hearing the information that Emma had just said. Emma's eyes didn't blink looking at Dani's flat face. The woman caught a lonely signal from the look in Daniella's eyes that she was trying to cover.

"What if Miss comes with me? Later after shopping, before going home we stop by for a while to the ice cream shop that is booming, Miss. It is not far from the supermarket. I used to see snaking queues, just to get a glass of ice cream. I got curious, how worth it viral ice cream with the struggle to get it? " Rose Emma.

"No, Bi. I'm too tired to follow you shopping. After all, after this I plan on finishing my schoolwork." Deny Daniella.

"All right, then." Emma sighed hearing the rejection from Dani. "But remember the message of the Master, Miss. I don't want to go back to getting into trouble like the past."

Daniella's answer made Emma even more worried. His memory goes back to a few days ago. As he and Conley discover Daniella lying unconscious on the cold floor of the laboratory with her head drenched in blood. Sadness, fear of losing even a feeling of near-deterrence, still imprints to this day.

"Miss, promise me you'll only finish schoolwork after you finish your lunch." Looking at the little girl's face.

"Yes, Bi. I promise."

After listening to her employer's son's promise, Emma soon passes away leaving Daniella alone with her lunch. Although there was doubt in his heart to leave Daniella for a while unattended, the desire to immediately complete her task today was greater. So Emma decides to leave Sean Conley's residence for the supermarket located at the end of the block.

After Emma's departure, the dining room became quiet. Dani's eyes were fixed on a dark brown door made of teak wood, located in the corner of the kitchen. A dislike and hateful look emanated from his eyes. He knew very well who owned the coat of women hanging near the entrance. It definitely belonged to the woman who had snatched the love of her father. Without finishing her lunch, Dani walked towards the dark-colored door. He did not heed the message delivered by the housekeeper earlier. He prefers to follow his heart and forget the promise he has made.

Heavy steps step by step combing the hallway that somehow felt so cramped and stifling that day. Doubt over Conley's words to Emma stirred up a strong desire in Dani's heart to prove it. Or is it just camouflage to cover another "job" that the man actually did.

Until that little step stopped in front of the gray door at the end of the hallway. With a little tiptoe, Dani can see through the glass door, the activity that is in there. The sickening activities they often watch at night, which Dani always watched secretly. And this time they had dared to do it during the day. Dani understands. That was the reason his father would not allow anyone to enter his laboratory for the next few hours. The important job that her father wanted to finish was a very disgusting job in Daniella's eyes.

Suddenly, APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) or fire extinguisher hanging on the laboratory wall, somehow separated the head with the tube. The liquid inside gushes out putting a strong pressure on the tube, thus pushing the tube in all directions. At high speed, gas cylinders hit various tools in the lab. The collision caused sparks due to the mixing of various types of chemicals in the laboratory. And...

Duars...

Big explosions are inevitable. Dani's body crashed into the wall of the hall a few meters away, as a result of the force of the explosion. With the rest of his strength still in his possession, Dani limped out running to save himself. His small body collapsed the moment he arrived in the front yard of the house. The fire quickly burned down Sean Conley's house. Drown out the things around it.

Emma, who had just returned from the supermarket, was shocked by the incident. The look in his eyes caught a small body lying in the middle of the courtyard of the house with burns on his back.

"Miss...!!! "

The middle-aged woman ran towards Dani, throwing her grocery bag in any direction. He then carried Dani's unconscious body, taking her away to a safer place.

Whether who had made the call to the emergency number, the fire department arrived shortly after, and an ambulance followed.
