Part 44: The Story of Renata

Renata wakes up from her stupor, and finds herself lying on her regular obstetrician's check bed.

"Would you wake up, Ren?" ask Doctor Sinta who is still cool with her cellphone.

"Who brought me here, Ma'am?" Renata asked back.

"Who else would it be if it wasn't the father of the child in your stomach?"

"Bang Moses? Where is he now, ma'am?" Renata pinched his head which still felt throbbing, dizzy.

"Of course he went back to his villa. Where does he want to wait in my narrow practice room. You're going strong, aren't you, Ren? Yuk moved into my house!"

Doctor Sinta's place of practice is in front of his house, he does not need to go far to open the practice, also easier when his patients are in need of sudden help.

Without saying much, Renata tried to get off the bed, looking a little difficult, because his head felt unusually dizzy. Doctor Sinta just glanced, there was no intention to help at all, making Renata snort annoyed.

After feeling the dizziness subside a little, Renata preceded Doctor Sinta to move out of the practice room. Staggered, Renata stepped onto the terrace of the Doctor's house, and sat waiting on the terrace chair.

"Mdad have food?" asked Renata, when Doctor Sinta came, after locking the practice room.

"You haven't eaten yet?" The doctor asked back.

Renata shook his head, from the morning, not a single piece of food had entered his stomach. The maid at the villa was returning home, more than a week ago. The food supply in the refrigerator was gone from yesterday. That's why he had Moses come to the villa, to bring him groceries.

Renata only came out of the villa to check the contents to the place of the obstetrician, never to go shopping. Usually the Maid goes out to buy all their needs. But due to his homecoming, Renata is forced to call Moses to come to the villa.

"Come in! He said he was hungry, why?" doctor Sinta's reprimand keeps Renata awake from daydreaming.

"Yes, Ma'am."

Renata enters the house, and Doctor Sinta locks the door behind him. The hunger that was already intolerable, led Renata to the dining room. Doctor Sinta's house is not a new place once visited by Renata, the girl has often stayed there, especially when the content began to feel uncomfortable.

"There's just instant noodles, Ren. What do you want to taste?" haggard Doctor Sinta.

"What a hell, Ma'am. The important thing is to be full."

Doctor Sinta cooks instant noodles for herself and Renata. Although it is not good to eat noodles at night, that is the easiest food to serve today. Food supplies at the doctor's place were also running low.

"Helper in Moses' villa is going home, isn't he?" asked Doctor Sinta while busy struggling in front of the stove.

"Yes, Mother. That's why I called Bang Moses, I mean I asked for groceries, uh he came in angry, kept going again."

"Basic irresponsible guy. When she doesn't know, pregnant women are hungry?"

Renata slicked his shoulders. When Doctor Sinta served the noodles that were still smoking in front of him, Renata immediately ate them voraciously."

"I'm asking you, is that really Moses' son?"

"But Moses said it wasn't his son. He's always been a sloth, ever done that to you, Ren."

"Yes like him anyway, want to say what, obviously this is his son. If you don't believe me, a DNA test would be if this goddamn orok was born!"

Renata said with great confidence, there was not the slightest doubt in his words, making Doctor Sinta doubt Moses' words as well, and trusted Renata more.

"Where did it happen?"

"Well, no, Ma'am. His name is also a dating man. Maybe that night we were the ones who were savage. Don't you know what Bang Moses' house is? The atmosphere is supportive too."

"Want to?"

"Lantas, after I told you I was pregnant, she sent me to the villa."

This time, Renata's face looked sad. There may be a sense of longing for both parents, because as a child only wayang, of course Renata is also a favorite child.

"What are your parents?"

Renata shook her head slowly. "I don't know, Ma'am. I never had the guts to tell my parents. I just disappeared. Maybe right now, they've reported me missing to the police."

"What I hear is that. Don't you have any intention of going home?" ask Doctor Sinta carefully.

"I'm going home, after this goddamn orok was born, even though I'm not sure he was born alive."

"What's that?"

"Let's know, I feel like he was born dead."

"Hahahaha, wong I'm just a gynecologist, stating that your baby is fine. He'll be born safe, though..."

Renata looked at Doctor Sinta curiously, because the beautiful Doctor did not continue his words. "Despite?"

"He'll be born with less than normal circumstances."

Renata. Immediately guilt reached the heart of the girl. Though earlier he still hated the scrape in his stomach, but hearing the baby was not born perfectly, made him feel sad.

"Udah night, Ren, sleep yuk! Let the dishes be washed by my assistant in the morning!"

"Bak sleep first, must have been tired because of the practice until late, because of this one patient. Let me just clean this up for a second."

"okkey. You know, where's the bedroom for you in this house?"

Renata simply nodded, and Doctor Sinta left him alone in the dining room. Slowly, Renata straddles the empty dish and washes it in the dishwasher. The girl's mind was still fixed on the baby in her stomach. What will be his fate, if it turns out that the baby was born disabled?

Almost thirty minutes, Renata was still standing in front of the dishwasher. Then a voice surprised him.
