They suspected that it was a man from King Ruo who had taken the first empress from them and began to devise a plan to trap them if one day King Ruo's entourage came attacking.

They all came out of that cave. On their way out they are startled by a battle between several spirit beasts against a pack of wolves and Ze takes part in the fight.
The flashback
"Come in with the others" Ze said.
"You're not going to go into the cave with me?" jin Hu asked as he saw Ze not stepping in the same direction as him.
"No, I'll be here to stand guard and check something around here" Ze replied.
"Silence is nothing dangerous here I just want to make sure." Ze explained as he looked at Jin hu's worried face.
"Get in right away, I'm afraid that if you're late King Ruo and the others will woe in there" Ze and Jin hu said immediately with a brief peek.
"Be careful" said Jin Hu and entered the cave.
As Jin hu along with the others entered the cave, Ze took out a whistle from the wolf and immediately blew the whistle.
"Lucky then Brother Jin hu returned this whistle to me. Otherwise, I'm not sure what reason to use to request this whistle from him" Ze said with a happy smile.
The moment the rebels besieging King Ruo came, Ze felt the presence of a power that resembled the presence of spirit beasts and it was in considerable numbers. To guard against the possibility that he felt was true, Ze called out to the wolves who had promised to help him whenever it came soon.
