Merely Winnowing
Sachi

Luna then looked at Devano's face that was still asleep, stared fixedly at the handsome face and then exhaled her long breath.

"Isn't there no coincidence in this world? Including my meeting with you that has become part of the destiny outlined by God. Although I don't know what the meaning behind this meeting is, for to me nothing is everlasting, like the ends of togetherness that we have agreed upon."

Luna got up from the bed, walked to the kitchen and made a cup of coffee. While enjoying the splash of rain as she sat on the sofa near the balcony of the apartment, suddenly Luna was shocked by a warm breath at the nape of her neck.

"Darling!"

"Devano! You're still sick, rest in the room! And please don't call me sweetheart anymore because I'm not who you are!"

"Lunaaa, didn't you promise not to leave me? Why are you suddenly here? Aren't you my favorite secretary? Is there something wrong with my call? Did I wrongly call you sweetheart?"

"Can't I act like this? What right do you have to tell me to keep you in the room? After all, calling a woman who has nothing to do with you is not necessary using the word dear, Devano!" grumbled Luna.

"A reticence! Call it wrong, honey!"

"You rest in the room, Devano!"

"By my company, Luna!"

"I don't want to!"

"Why did you suddenly change like this, Luna? Aren't you being so sweet to me?"

"Why indeed? Is something wrong? You should be spoiling with your future fiance! Not with me, Devano!"

"With my fiancee? Shakila?"

"Yes, isn't Shakila very pretty?Much more beautiful than me! Why don't you ask Shakila to take care of you? Isn't she your future wife too? He should have done all this! Not me!"

"You're right too, Luna. I'll call Mama to ask Shakila to accompany me!"

"Devano!" snapped Luna. He then got up from the sofa, and as Luna was about to step up, Devano pulled her hand, until her body crashed and sat on her lap.

Devano then stared fixedly at Luna. The two brown eye beads that he liked so much, now seemed to start to dew, and began to drip clear granules from both corners of his eyes. Devano then grabbed the pretty face, then slowly wiped away her tears.

"Take me off! Didn't you promise not to touch me?"

"I'm not touching you, I'm just looking at you and wiping your tears. Why are you crying? Why are you suddenly talking about Shakila? Did my mom hurt you again?"

"No, isn't that the reality? Aren't you getting engaged to Shakila? Is there something wrong with my words?"

"Can't you not say his name when we're together? Don't you know I just want to spend my time with you before I get engaged to her? Isn't this the deal you had to go through when you borrowed money from me? Besides, I promised I wouldn't touch you first if you hadn't started."

"But you're very cunning and always take a chance!" luna's grunt that made Devano chuckle.

"Why are you laughing like that? So annoying! Then what about me after my time is up with you, and you're engaged to Shakila?"

"Why are you asking like this, Luna? If your time is up with me shouldn't you be happy because you don't have to obey all my orders? You can work with me as usual. Then, why should you be so angry?"

'God! Is it true what Devano said? Why should I be mad at him, ' Inner Luna.

"Then don't touch me again!" luna said as she rose from Devano's lap.

"Where are you going? Follow me Luna!"

"I'm going to the room! You go back to your room!"

"Then who's gonna stroke my back?"

"Take your fiancee!"

"Gosh, Luna. What exactly are you? Why did you suddenly become like this? Didn't I tell you not to mention Shakila again?"

"Am I wrong to say his name?"

"Yes, this is a mistake because there must be no one else but me and you during these three months!"

"Why indeed? She's your future fiancee and future wife, Devano!"

"Don't I tell you there can't be anyone else but us? Why did you suddenly change like this, Luna! Are you jealous?"

Hearing Devano's words, the emotions inside Luna's chest subsided. 'Jealous?' inner Luna while looking at Devano with blank eyes.

"No way! Who are you? Ck, I can't be jealous!"

"Now look me in the eye and tell me if you're not jealous of Shakila!"

"I'm not jealous, Devano!" luna said as she stared intently at Devano. However, those sharp eyes turned soft, and the brown bead began to dew.

'Lacking! Why am I crying like this!' luna's mind now began to close her eyes. Slowly, his hands began to touch the chest of Devano's field, to push his body from before him.

However, the touch of Luna's hand on Devano's chest, hastily gripped by Devano's hand and then pulled until Luna's body slammed into his arms.

"Don't you promise not to touch me?" said Luna sobbing.

"Have you forgotten that you touched my chest first."

"Basic cheated!" isak Luna's.

"Please don't mention Shakila again, do you understand?"

Luna nodded her head. "Promise?" Luna nodded her head back.

"Luna's... "

"What?"

"Kissmmm.. "

A smile finally fell on Luna's lips. "Spoiled base!"

"Luna's.. "

"Mmmm..."

"Kiss-mm..."

"Gosh, you're so spoiled!" grumbled Luna while raising her face then looked at Devano's handsome face, observing every inch of his face that now felt so tempting his instincts. Slowly, Luna brought her face closer and kissed Devano's lips.

CUPS

****

A middle-aged woman appeared to be fiddling with her cell phone, then sticking it in her ear.

[Hello, Aini.]

[Yes, Aunt Fitri.]

[Have you told Shalika about her engagement to Devano?]

[Not yet, but.. ]

[But what is Aini?]

[But it looks like Shakila already has a boyfriend, Auntie.]

[What? A boyfriend?]

[Yes, I often see Shakila smiling while looking up at the sky, sometimes even talking to herself. What if Shakila already has a boyfriend, Auntie?]

[This matchmaking remains to be done, Aini.]

[If Shakila still refuses how is it, Auntie? Shakila is very stubborn. Did Auntie forget how stubborn Shakila was when she parted ways with Darren two years ago until she got sick?]

[But this matchmaking must go on Aini, by any means because it is a promise to be kept. Devano had to marry one of my grandchildren, be it Shakila or Sachi.]

[Sachi? Has Aunt found Sachi?]

[Not yet, but I'm sure, I'll find her soon enough.]

[Yes aunt.]

Fitri then hangs up, staring at an old photo while saying slowly. "Sachi, we will definitely find you."
