Now that Melani was staring at the dark sky that night, the stars did not show themselves. And even the moon snag was only faintly visible. The city was cold as usual.
The young man who was piggybacking on him tried to cleave his vocal cords. "Gue promises to solve this problem, besides that I should be responsible for what I have done." Adam said. Melani just silently listened to the young man's statement.
What a terrible mood he was in knowing this fact, he did not want to talk to a young man who ran into his father's run.
He was nauseous to hear the words of Adam who continuously tried to solve this problem.
Adam's actions, which are irresponsible. Melani must help her father to make a living, working part-time at the warkop bu Dedeh.
"Basin' a fucking guy." Inner Melani swearing. What accountability Adam will give now, it is too late. If he really wants to take responsibility for his actions.
Why didn't the young man do it when it happened? Why was the young man responsible when he found out that the man he hit and ran off with was his father?
Now Melani understands why her father forbade her to see Adam. He also did not want to make friends with a young man who treated others badly.
The two-wheeled vehicle stopped. The young man parked his motorcycle right outside the fence of Melani's house. Rushing, Melani got off the passenger seat, and entered the house without inviting the young man to go inside. His presence is now very unwanted by the owner of the house.
Saw his daughter coming in without a greeting and closed the door. Yusuf's forehead creased, looking at Melani's uncheerful facial expression as usual.
Joseph only sighed, stepping towards the front door of his house. Indeed, both of his eyes bulged when he saw a young man who hit him just took off his helmet.
The young man swallowed his saliva, he was really ready to accept whatever would happen to his life. With confidence, Adam stepped into the courtyard of the light white house. Then say hello, "Assalamualaikum." Adam said with a slight smile.
The man looked only at Adam, and did not answer the young man's greeting. Adam stepped towards the man's place.
"Hello sir, see you again say-."
"Would you like to come here?" Cut off Joseph, he stared intently at Adam who was still trying to smile kindly.
Both of the young man's knees were waving, his pore was sweating profusely. This atmosphere is more gripping than seeing a real ghost.
Adam again swallowed his saliva, "The existence of Adam here intends to take responsibility for the behavior that Adam did last week." Joseph rolled his eyes hearing this.
"And yesterday I said, I forgive you as long as you stay away from my son, Melani. Why did you come here all? Where it looks like my son was you bonceng." Joseph repeated his words this morning. He will actually forgive the behavior of the young man if he stays away from his son.
Adam tried to keep staring at the man's eyes, trying to convince him. "If Adam only did what you wanted. Adam felt that Adam was still less responsible for Adam's actions. Now, Adam wants to really straighten this out. And honestly...."
"Adam likes his father, Melani." Adam continued, It seems he regretted his last words.
Joseph who heard the fond statement of the young man only slightly chuckled. After that he tried to show his face back.
"Well if it's like that, we'll talk about it inside." Dozens of fireworks in the young man's heart erupted simultaneously upon hearing the man's words. Perhaps his words earlier made the man certain of his good intentions.
Joseph put his feet into the simple house. Guide the uninvited guest to sit in a rattan chair with a table in front of him.
The man who owned the house sat next to the young man after calling his son, Melani, to make a dish.
"Here I have some funds, to make up for Adam's mistake last week." The young man chirped while removing some brown bags from a black totebag bag that the young man had brought.
Joseph only noticed the young man who was taking out the brown bag.
"It's funds to make up for the costs you've spent on your wound care." Raba Adam on a left-most brown bag. "This bag as my apology to the father, because it had immediately run away the incident." Obviously Adam again felt the middle brown bag.
The man just kept silent. Then take his breath. "This is my apology to my father for bothering Melani again."
"O you still want Adam to stay away from Melani after this, Adam can accept that and...." Adam sighed violently. "And won't see your father's daughter again." The man smiled hearing a statement coming out of the man's mouth.
Joseph opened one by one the brown bags given by the young man. The man only nodded his head after seeing the contents of the brown bag. It turned out to contain quite a lot of cash, for a simple person like himself.
"Yes, I want my daughter to no longer be too close to you. And all these pockets in my opinion can't solve the problem. But, because you already have the courage and intention to apologize. I'll appreciate it."
"And I only received pockets for my wound care expenses. The other bag you use is for your needs." Joseph continued, sliding two bags of chocolate toward Adam.
Hearing that, the young man's breath hunted down. His heart did not accept the fact that he could no longer approach the girl of his heart. "Well, that's it,"
The girl carried a tray containing several cups of syrup. "Have a drink first." Joseph rose when the cup was on the table. The young man grabbed the cup and gulped it down.
"Thank you sir" said Adam, then glanced at Melani, who was sitting in front of him.
The young man clung to Melani, "My business and you are done. I ask for help, you keep your promise." Pinta Yusuf's. Adam just nodded while smiling faintly at the man.
"Okay sir, Adam, excuse me. Sorry for interrupting the break." The young man stood up. Followed by the man, he stood up to lead the young man to the front door.
Adam smiled as he turned towards the girl. Staring wistfully at Melani who was standing next to the rattan chair. Looking back at Adam.
Maybe this was the last time, he and the girl looked at each other.
