The Love of David

"Doctor, how is my husband? Can he hear what I'm saying? Why has he been silent since? Can both eyes see? He's not blind, is he? Doctor, please answer my question," Eva said with a worried face.

"Miss, we need to get Mr. Devid back to the hospital for a follow-up check. So far I see Mr. Devid is not blind. However, I myself also do not know why Mr. Devid would not look and speak," replied the doctor as he was.

"alright. We're taking him to the hospital now. I want my husband back, Doc." Eva walks to the bed and holds Devid's hand. He looked at the man with teary eyes. "Devid, we're going to the hospital. I'm sure you'll be cured soon. Trust me!" eva said with a hopeful face.

Devid opened his eyes but looked blankly. Like a madman who has no purpose in life.

The doctor nodded and finished his examination. "Yes. There's nothing we can do. The patient will wake up if he wants to wake up. For a while, we can only conclude that the patient is still in a coma. Yet he could see and hear what was happening around him."

"That means the patient will never respond to what's going on around him, Doc?"

"Yes, you're right. I will tell this to the patient's family." The doctor walked to the door. The medical team left in the room looked back at Devid with a look of disbelief. Cases like this are pretty rare to see.

In front of the room, the doctor meets Eva and tells her what Devid is going through. Although it can be said that it's all bad news, but Eva can feel a little relieved because from now on Devid can see and hear what he says.

"Have I been able to bring my husband back home, Doc?" ask Eva again.

"Yes, please Miss. You must often invite him to chat and show something that makes his spirit can rise again," said the doctor.

David put Shazia on the bed. They both just got home. Ever since getting out of the car, David took Shazia in by the way in a cradle. The wheelchairs that have been prepared feel useless.

"Darling, do you want anything?" haggard David while looking at Shazia's face.

"Oh yeah, what about Eva? Is she okay in there?" ask Shazia. He felt very homesick and wanted to meet Eva. However, Shazia was also not ready to look at Devid's face. In addition to the last news he received now Devid has improved.

"Yes. He enjoyed his days there. Said the person I sent, Eva looks a lot more cheerful and excited." Shazia looked towards the window. His gaze was empty like something was troubling his mind.

"Darling, what's wrong? You think of something?" ask David full of questions.

"Didn't Nora die at Devid's hands? Nora loves Devid so much that she is willing to do anything. Devid is married to Eva. Why Devid hasn't been looking for Eva all this time. Don't you think Devid doesn't love Eva? What would Devid do if he was healed? Is he leaving Eva? Eva looks so sincere in love with Devid."

David took a long breath. He himself did not know how Devid's life had been. Especially the life about the man's romance. However, David himself has the same concerns as Shazia. He fears that if Devid recovers, the man will leave Eva and return to revenge against them both.

"Darling, we better not think about those two first huh. Right now your health is much more important" David said.

"Yes. I'm gonna take a break. Follow me to rest" Shazia pinta with a smile.

David smiled sweetly before nodding in agreement. The man climbed into the bed to hug his wife.

"The doctor said you haven't been able to move much. Therefore, I will take you wherever you go, Shazia. Including if you want to shower," said David again.

Shazia laughed a little. "You're really looking for David's chance!"

"I'm not like that. I just want to make amends" replied David in self-defense.

"Ehm, okay." Shazia began to close her eyes. Being in David's arms was the most comfortable thing he had ever felt.

As Shazia looked sound, David still opened his eyes while looking ahead.

"I have to do something. I don't want Devid to come back evil after he's healed. He must know how scheming Logan is! The doctor said Devid could hear and see. That means if I tell you what really happened, Devid can figure it out. It's possible that he'll rethink if he wants revenge on us" David murmured inwardly.
