Not Getting Permission

This morning at the dinner table was still very quiet. I don't know what happened, but no yeng dared to open his voice. Anjani and Nugroho stared at his son-in-law. While Aldi, he ate his breakfast ogah-ogahan.

The flashback

Inside the room, Byan was standing in front of the bathroom in anxious expectation. He's pacing back and forth like a hot iron. Every now and then he glanced towards the bathroom door, after which he sighed.

"Astaghfirullah By, you just say if you want to join the camp car in Bogor. Why is it so hard!"

Right after Byan muttered, Brian came out of the bathroom with a very fresh look. He looked at his wife and smiled. A few steps he walked, now the girl was in his arms. Brian hugged Byan from behind while leaning his chin on his wife's shoulder.

"Why do you smell so sweetie?" the sound of the bus filled Byan's eardrum. Byan wriggling. He pulled Brian's hand and twisted himself so he could look at the man.

"Of!"

"Hum!"

Brian muttered while playing Byan's hair. The smile on his lips was unfettered. Seeing his wife at close range like this was a new hobby for Brian.

"Byan wants permission."

"What's? Just say! Why are you so nervous?"

"Byan wants to join the same camp car Om. Can't you?"

Brian stopped the movement of his hand. The face that had been radiant was now in a sour bend.

"You can't go!"

After saying that sentence, Brian went to walk in closed without even considering his words. He is very confident and will not change his decision.

Byan was blinking his lips. But she ran after her husband to walk in closed.

Grep's!

A hug landed on Brian's back. A pair of tiny hands coiled beautifully on her sixpack belly.

"Om, Byan promised, Byan wouldn't be naughty. Aldi was there too. He'll take care of Byan."

Brian was silent. He continued to pay attention to that circular hand.

"Listen I By, I'll never let you go even if there's Aldi. Those people aren't taking care of you. What if you're doing?"

Byan was upset. He took off his embrace and went out of the walk in closed. He walked downstairs to complain to everyone. Anjani understood with the sadness that Byan felt. But they can't do much. If Brian says no, then yes. The man was very stubborn and always stayed on the decisions he had made.

"Byan is full. Byan went with Aldi!"

Brian looked at his wife. He wanted to interrupt, but his wife had already gotten out of her seat and was just walking away. Brian followed Byan from behind. He sees Byan getting into Aldi's car even though Aldi is not there yet.

Clack!

Car door open. Brian looked down to pull Byan's hand, but the girl immediately brushed him off.

"Don't bother Byan Om. Byan is not in the mood. We better not talk for a while now."

Brian frowned. Just this time Byan was talking like an adult. Byan was very different than usual.

Brian nodded. He leaned his body and tilted his head to kiss Byan's lips. Byan flinching. He ignored what Brian was doing because he was too upset.

"Yes, be careful!"

Again, Byan did not answer. He pretends to be busy with his phone and doesn't want to look at Brian or talk to him.

****

Today is a test of sports practice and some other lessons. Instead of spirit, Byan even looks very lackluster. He had no spirit or cheerful face. Her heart was clouded by the black clouds that her husband was spreading.

"Lo why By? There is something that makes you uncomfortable" asked Anandita and immediately answered by Byan.

"Come by, our same story. Who knows if we can help!" navisa is convincing.

"Om Brian wouldn't let me go to that camp car show Dit, Na, Hikssss. I really want to go. I've always missed out on events like this because Dad always forbade me to go. Hikssss, why now I can't leave either. I'm an adult. I can take care of myself. Why do they always treat me like I'm a little kid who can be lost if you get out of sight. I'm so good .. huaaaaa."

Byan's cry broke out right then and there. Anandita and Navisa feel very sorry. Navisa hugged Byan while rubbing her soft back. He also uttered encouraging sentences so that the girl could stop crying.

Drtzzzz! Drtzzzz!

Navisa let go of her embrace. He saw Byan's phone vibrate. There's an incoming call from Brian. Navisa took the phone and gave it to Byan.

"Thank you first, it's important."

Byan shook his head steadily. "Don't want Na, just turn it off!"

"Don't let me pick up!"

Anandita snatches Byan's phone from Navisa's hand and receives the call and attaches the phone to her ear.

Just wanted to get Brian on the phone. He heard the bus talking first.

"What's? Are you sure?" said Dita with a face of disbelief."
