"Please protect Your Highness the Duke, I will take care of myself." With a bitter smile Yanneta continued her words.
"Then the Crown Prince's Highness's dream was the Duke's future. At the party, the Duke and Crown Prince will meet a woman, Rose Attlier. This is where tragedy happens. There should be a love triangle between them."
"There should be no tragedy of Princess Gwinia. Maybe because of my existence, then the future changed."
"The story has gone astray. I don't know anymore."
The day just passed. As usual Lionel paced between the mansion and the palace. It was amazing that he never got a curse attack even though the intensity of visiting his palace was increasing.
The Witch Lord, Dyos Tatiha himself is busy to unravel the plot of the imminent events. During the night he read magic books. Wrestling with a spell. To wallow in many scenarios in his brain. He still exchanged letters with Verdian and periodically reported them to Janneta.
Yanneta herself could not help much. The knowledge he had was limited. The future of the Red Rose Tragedy story is different. He is busy thinking about his own future.
Suddenly the sound of knocking resuscitated him. A servant came in after being invited.
"Count Rainhart is here."
How surprised Yanneta was. He stood up nervously. There are no depictions of Yanneta's father, Count Rainhart. He was confused as to how.
"Master Count is waiting in the receiving room."
A glimpse of Yanneta's memory appears. Count Rainhart never gave her daughter any affection. His wife died giving birth to him. He was a workaholic merchant. The Count loved to travel abroad and never came home all year.
But now he's here. Especially at the Soveil mansion.
The door opened and a middle-aged man walked up to the window. Wrinkles at some point indicate his advanced age.
Yanneta is grieving because she does not know how to say hello.
"You're here, dad."
The count looked over with his cold face. It was obvious that he was a man without mercy. In front of his daughter, his eyes were wild as if ready to prey on his prey. Only horror is visible.
Very not friendly.
Yanneta straightened her back with a faint smile. Along the way from his room to the receiving room he could already guess what Yanneta's father was like.
Without a word Count Rainhart sat down.
Silent.
"When did you come back?"
Pleasant as to how, please tell Yanneta she has to how to deal with a father she has never seen. In his real life he was an orphan. He didn't know the father's love because he was raised by a single mother until middle school. He grew up alone. The harshness of life forces him to live without any other sense of fortitude.
"A long time no see your jokes are on the rise."
Jamb.
Short words but many meanings. First from a hostile view, the next is a non-soft speech. Obviously Count Rainhart really disliked her daughter.
Yanneta finally relaxed her tense back. He did not have to bother to keep his attitude in front of people who would however hate him. That man is not his father after all. Why keep your face let alone look open. Don't hope.
"What brought Lord Count all the way here?" Yanneta. The name 'father' had already disappeared from his tongue.
His forehead is next to. Count Rainhart was surprised by the sharpness of Yanneta's tongue. They rarely met, he did not care what the child grew into. He is responsible enough for his needs. During these twenty-one years, the Count had rarely met let alone chatted with his daughter.
He returned from the Eastern Continent due to the invitation of the emperor Zagc's birthday party. He traveled miles to get back. That was until he heard that Yanneta was staying at Duke Soveil's mansion.
Count Rainhart was not angry nor was she rejoicing, but she at least needed to meet her daughter. Asking why Soveil should be, Rainhart is one of Zagc's loyal followers. A Rainhart close to Soveil tarnishes the dignity of her family.
"What are you doing here?"
Yanneta tilted her head slightly. He boldly returned Count Rainhart's gaze. Why be afraid, this old man in front of him does not deserve to be called an old man. A true old man would not ignore his flesh and blood.
"Master Count came all the way here just to ask that?"
Janet's courage appeared not knowing where. He should have apologized. If you can cry. An unmarried girl lives in her boyfriend's house. His parents deserve to be angry. But Yanneta's feelings said another. This Count Rainhart did not come just to scold his daughter. Instead he wanted to break his daughter's heart.
"You changed a lot it turns out. Maybe because of a long time."
"Yes. I have changed a lot."
"Go back. You have a place to stay why you have to live in someone else's house." Count Rainhart stood up immediately.
"I refused. I'll stay here."
At least until Lionel meets Rose, thought Yanneta.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not coming back."
Count Rainhart's eyes turned into a flash of emotion. The once quiet princess is now brave. He was not even afraid of facing her at all.
"Duke Soveil must have taught you something that wasn't right. You're becoming a child who dares to argue." The Count's voice rose an octave.
"Previously apologize Mr. Count. I'm Duke's lover, I'm telling you if Mr. Count hasn't heard of it." Answer Yanneta lightly.
"Then, why should I go home that doesn't accept me? I'd rather live here, everyone accepts me and Lionel, I mean Duke Soveil loves me so much. I'm an adult. I deserve to live my life." Yanneta's long words were followed with a cynical smile.
"You think you can be Duchess? Don't dream! A lowly woman like you doesn't deserve to be Duchess. Duke Soveil is a noble honor. Marrying the shameless woman who seduced him by tailing behind him was impossible. Remember who you are." Count Rainhart was burned with emotion.
"Rainhart is a loyal follower of Zagc, Soveil will not consider you in the least to be Duchess Soveil. Know yourself!"
All manner of swearing was poured out on Janneta. His body snapped but soon gained control. What Count Rainhart said was not wrong. Count's right. She was indeed just a lowly woman who wished for the love of a Duke. He even turned a deaf ear to all sorts of rumors.
Unbeknownst to Lionel, Yanneta often sent letters to his friends, Eliz, Yolanda, Rebecca and Hillary. Their conversation was very open though in the letter. Because of the distance, Janet communicated more often with the other three people who lived in the capital except Eliz.
They collected various kinds of rumors circulating in the community. Mostly about Duke Soveil with his mistress, Lady Rainhart, to the opinion of Princess Gwinia who is more suitable to be Duchess Soveil than she is.
The spill of the Count's harsh words did not bash his heart. Yanneta smiled silently. The saying 'blood is thicker than water' is wrong. The proof is him now. Yanneta and her father. How could he be rude to his daughter. Count Rainhart is outrageous.
"You don't have to worry about Mr. Count, you're just being as ignorant as ever to me. I will not embarrass Rainhart's name. You don't usually care about me, so why do you seem worried now? All this time we've been living not knowing each other, right?" Yanneta stand. He did not want to be intimidated by the distance.
"You!" The Count Rainhart.
"Today you are no longer Rainhart. Rainhart doesn't care about you anymore. You're no longer Rainhart's daughter!" Further.
"Have it not been a long time?" Yanneta's voice trembled at the end, she tried to hold back her tears.
Count Rainhart's eyes widened. He left the reception room with a red face full of anger. Along the way back his mouth continued to spit out harsh words to Yanneta.
As soon as the door closed Yanneta's body collapsed. Today was like a surprise. Suddenly he became an orphan. Not much different from his old life. He has no family anymore.
Soon he will also be abandoned by Soveil. Complete already. Living in a strange world. She has to how.
Yanneta's tears are spilled.
