"Papa," the moaning coming from Darren's small mouth distracted Namira and Abra who were still at home standing on the doorstep.
Abra immediately barged in as soon as the voice of the child called out his name.
Namira seemed to let it go, Namira followed the footsteps of Abra who walked closer to the bed.
Abra reaches out her hand to check Darren's body temperature, and it seems that her fever is back up.
"Please close the door, then get me another blanket" Abra said as she undressed Darren.
"What would you like? Why are the clothes opened?" asked Namira with a panicked face.
"It's okay, just get the blanket, quickly" Abra replied again ignoring Namira's panic.
Namira also looks towards her wardrobe. He picked up one of the other blankets that was still folded neatly in there.
And how surprised Namira when he turned around, Abra was now looking bare-chested and was preparing to lay her body beside Darren.
"Ma_mas what are you doing? Ke_why take off your shirt too?" namira asked again and was further made to panic by what Abra was doing.
"This is what I used to do when he had a fever, it's much more effective than a heat-lowering drug. Please cover our bodies until closed perfectly," replied Abra who has now hugged tightly the tiny body of the child with the same innocence.
"Skin to skin contact?" namira asked as she covered the bodies of the father and son.
"Eeemmm, this is much better than medicine. He's a little silly with his name being a drug, so I always do this when he's a thug and it's much better than giving him medicine" Abra explained without changing his current position, Namira himself just nodded small.
*Skin to skin is a heat transfer method that is done by touching the skin. Usually this is done by a mother/father to warm the body of her newborn child.
"Get down, you must be tired, too" Abra said as she watched Namira still sit at the old study table she now uses for the desk.
"Well, I'm resting in the next room, yeah,"
"Why not just here? I'm still your husband, and we won't sin if we only sleep one bed" Abra said as she watched Namira move from her seat.
Namira stopped her footsteps when she heard what Abra said. However, seconds later, Namira resumed her steps out of the room.
"I'm sorry, but I thought our marriage was over when I gave birth and Darren died with you" Namira said before leaving the room.
Abra let out a deep sigh as she watched Namira leave the room to sleep in her late mother's room. Although their marriage is still legal in the eyes of law and religion, Namira still considers the marriage to be completed, in accordance with the contract he signed first.
And of course, it would be very strange for him to sleep in one room with the man who is still her husband.not to mention, the separation between the two who have been fairly long, not to mention, makes Namira hesitant.
Is their marriage still legal what it is not.
Not to mention, Namira who for 6 years has never done his responsibilities as a wife, of course, adds to the doubt. Until Namira also prefers to avoid before knowing the legitimate of their current marriage.
Namira looked pensive in the room that was once occupied by her mother while she was still there. And now, the room seemed deserted because the occupants had left this world for a long time.
"What should I do, Mom? should I go back to being his wife? but what about that woman? she would have been hurt when she found out that I was still the wife of her husband" Namira said to herself.
Abra himself can only resign to Namira's current decision. Maybe Abra should be a little patient again and persuade the woman slowly land. Since Darren was born, Abra has never intended to divorce Namira.
