Heart Darkness

Heart Darkness
Chapter 1 Little Aruhi

Little Aruhi woke up from an uneasy sleep by the sound of scolding mixed with desperate cries that were becoming more and more. Slowly the little girl got out of bed and peeked out from behind the bedroom door.

In a very messy middle room, a beautiful young lady was sitting on the sofa. That woman is Aruhi's mother, Salsa. In front of him was a table and on the table were seen bottles of liquor lined up irregularly. Some of them are empty.

Mom's drinking again.

The woman cried sobbing while putting a cigarette in the cleft lip, light a fire, then bring the fire to the end of the cigarette. Maybe because of too much drinking or maybe because of the shaking of the cry, the hands slightly shaking, to the point of unsuccessfully burning cigarettes. He returned to cursing.

"Oh shit .. What kind of life is this? What kind of a man is this? No money .. no pride. Even this fucking cigarette isn't on my side!"

The matches were re-lit, the tip of the cigarette successfully ignited the fire. Cigarettes are smoked, held and slowly blown. Enjoying in solitude, in solitude. The sound of crying also died down. Aruhi breathed a sigh of relief. Her mood seemed to improve after smoking.

Is there anything else you want? Little Aruhi thought.

I work hard and make money. They have a home, although not a luxury home, and always have food. She dressed well and put cosmetics on her pretty face. His appearance is always interesting. What do you want again? Aruhi is never as stubborn or whiny as other children. When mom comes home from work, Aruhi never asks to be hugged or pampered. Also never cry and make Mom upset even though hungry all day, Aruhi never whine. He was afraid to make Mom angry.

Eager to get close to Mom and cheer her up, but last time she did, Mom got angry and slapped both her cheeks with a cell phone. Aruhi remembered running to the room, crying until morning and curled up in the corner of the room. He also did not go to school the next day, because friends will definitely see strange swelling in the corners of his eyes. Aruhi understands Mom is probably tired. Or maybe upset at Daddy who rarely comes home.

Aruhi's little belly rang and just remembered last night not eating at all. I don't cook even a refrigerator full of groceries. While the paid nanny only cooks for daylight.

Mom just overslept after work, whined half in tears and started getting drunk. Aruhi ends up filling her stomach with a nutella sandwich and a box of chocolate milk. Fortunately there was still left inside the school bag, the rest of the birthday parcel from his classmates.

"Dad .. Can you come home now? I miss you?"

The poor little girl whispered in the cold night wind. Dad is very busy, because Aruhi's father works as a private driver of a famous actor.

He is rarely at home. During the day, Aruhi is usually taken care of by a babysitter who is paid by the hour. Mom went to work and came home late in the afternoon and slept through the night. At midnight I'm gonna start drinking and getting drunk again.

Sometimes you come home with a different man. The neighbors often gossip about Mom's work and they talk about it when they see Aruhi.

"Dad rarely came home, his mother often with many men. It's a shame ...."

"The mother must have been the wrong woman ...."

"The mother must have sold herself ...."

"Don't Aruhi not her son, so her father rarely came home ...."

There's a lot more.

Aruhi are still too small to understand but their language and tone of voice can even be understood by a small child.

Long Aruhi was silent peeking. Then the sound of a car entering the yard of the house made him very - very happy.

"Dad went home .. "he whispered cheerfully.

He ran to the window of the room and beamed to see Dad coming out of the car with a lot of luggage. Aruhi refrained from going out. She'll pretend to be asleep because Dad will definitely come to her room and start stroking her hair.

"What are you doing, honey? Why is drinking hard in the morning blind and ruining your health? What are you doing in the house while there's a little kid here?"

Dad's voice sounded annoyed even though he spoke softly. Aruhi got out of bed and peeked back. The smell of cigarette smoke mixed with alcohol was quickly smelled by his small nose.

Dad grabbed the bottles and put them all in the trash. Mom doesn't seem to care.

"What do you want? This is not a good example for Aruhi."

Dad snatched a cigarette from Mom's hand and smashed it.

"Don't bother me! You fucking man. Look at me now! Life without money, without self-respect. There's nothing I can show my friends. There's nothing."

Mom started to curse while Dad looked patient in dealing with his behavior. Dad held back emotions even though self-esteem must have been hurt.

"Darling, you're drunk. Come on, let's get you to bed!"

"Oh .. Stop being so sweet! I'm sick of you, of my life."

"All right, tell me what you want? We can solve this but not by drinking. Okay?"

"I want to go to college not work. I want lots of money, lots of possessions and luxury cars. I don't want to see your fucking daughter either."

"The salsa! Watch what you say! Aruhi is your daughter. How can you talk like that?"

"You should have listened to me! I should have had an abortion at that time. Look at me now!"

Dad took Mom to the bedroom and tuned the sleep music. Aruhi closed the door quietly and climbed onto the bed. Lungla.

"So, because of me? You don't like me?"

Aruhi sobbing. She thought Mom was angry and easily upset because something must have happened at work.

"But ... Mom was like that because of me. Why don't you like me? My friends at school don't like me either. They think I'm a weird kid. I didn't do anything to make them angry. I just don't want to be friends."

"Aruhi???"

A subtle call at the door then footsteps approached. Deleting tears. I can't see that he's sad.

"Yes, Daddy ...."

Aruhi woke up and hugged her father tightly. I miss Dad very much.

"You haven't slept?"

"I miss Dad. Very homesick. I'm hungry too, Dad. Why did you leave so long?"

"Dad here now, honey. Come on, let's go to the kitchen. You want to eat healthy noodles? I'll make it for you?"

Aruhi nodded excitedly as soon as forget sad.

"Come, Dad."

Aruhi sat at the dining table while Dad boiled instant noodles. The smell of noodles evaporated until it penetrated into his small stomach. He's very hungry now.

Benn Amarante is a handsome and kind-hearted man who marries Salsabila, a beautiful young girl from a wealthy family. The relationship between the two is not approved. Benn was Salsa's bodyguard before the two fell in love and decided to run away. They flee away from Salsa's parents and live in a small suburb with their daughter, Aruhi.

Later Salsa can no longer accept the shocks of living with men lacking in wealth. In fact, Benn fulfilled the needs of his life.

That's not enough!

Salsa is used to spending money and making fun. Life without money and a lot of falsehoods make Salsa depressed.

"Well, here it is. Healthy noodles. There's noodles, eggs, vegetables. Yummy right???"

"Dad, Dad."

"Let's eat, honey!"

Aruhi started eating while blowing the bowl to cool down quickly.

"Awwhhhh .. hot, Dad," he exclaimed as he wagged his mouth.

"That's the heat or the heat?" ask Benn to Aruhi. The man kissed the top of his daughter's head affectionately. "Did you spill the sausage wrong? Chili's not a tomato?"

"It's hot." Silent. "Dad, can I come with Daddy to work? School is boring."

Benn sighed heavily and poured water for Aruhi.

"You don't like your nanny?"

Aruhi nodded. But, Aruhi doesn't tell Benn that his nanny is very unattentive. The nanny even spent all of Aruhi's lunch rations. That's why Aruhi is often hungry.
