Aegis Empire
After a long journey, Prince Evandor and Empress Rhea finally arrived in Aegis. The wind blew fiercely, the longer the bone-chilling coldness grew. Aegis is like a different country now.
Prince Evandor tightened his robe. While Empress Rhea had earlier taken refuge behind thick armor that wrapped her body.
The horse-drawn carriage they were riding on had entered the Aegis market territory. The atmosphere is quite crowded in the people's market which is located in the city center.
Prince Evandor glanced towards the street where people passed by. The buyer and the seller come together as one. However, he was a little surprised when he passed by a soldier whose face was different. With a pointed chin and a distinctive ear shape, these faces were like he had ever seen.
"Who are these people? These soldiers seem to be from eastern Europe" murmured Prince Evandor.
"I'd better be careful. I feel Aegis is under attack." Prince Evandor looked towards the several heavily armed soldiers walking towards them.
Prince Evandor continued to observe the atmosphere outside. The soldiers who were originally just walking normally under the command of a leader, suddenly started to turn towards the merchants.
"Give me this cloth now!" snapped
a burly soldier.
"Don't you, I haven't even sold a single piece of cloth since morning."
"It's none of my business! Hand over this cloth, or your table I'll smash!"
Brak!
The soldier broke the table to make the merchant's guts. Eventually the expensive silk cloth changed hands. The merchant could only look at the brutal warrior with a resigned gaze.
"Please don't take these cookies, sir. My mother didn't sleep to make it. We were hoping to buy some wheat and medicine for Mom."
A girl holds a cake in the kingdom. But the thick-moustached warrior was unforgiving. He kicked the belly of the cake-seller girl until her body was slammed.
Not only was silk expensive, various kinds of handicrafts, food to fruits, all were forcibly seized by the soldiers. They shouted and threatened to kill anyone who dared to resist.
"It's really not right."
Prince Evandor clenched his hand. Assaults and repression are taking place in the Aegis region. Emperor Alessa must have been furious to know this.
"They were deliberately waiting for Emperor Alessa to let their guard down. How do I send word that Aegis is under attack?" Prince Evandor kept thinking.
"Ah, let me think about that later. Now I have to think about how Empress Rhea's presence is unknown to them. It's gonna be very dangerous."
"If Empress Rhea is in danger, I'm sure I won't be forgiven by Her Majesty."
The soldiers are getting closer. It was at that moment that Prince Evandor whispered to the back, where Empress Rhea was sitting while tightening the blanket that wrapped her body.
"Please bow Your Majesty."
Empress Rhea immediately lowered her head, making it invisible to the soldiers. But there was a soldier who was suspicious and looked up into the carriage. Luckily Empress Rhea locked him from the inside.
"Open up! Whoareyou? Open the train door! What are you carrying?"
"Hamba is just a rancher carrying shit, sir. Please allow me to pass by" replied Prince Evandor.
I can't believe the soldier forcibly opened the carriage door. Suddenly he shook his hands because he smelled an unpleasant aroma. Empress Rhea's body was covered in blankets while sheltering under a bench so that it was not visible from the outside.
"Let's walk!" he pushed the train away.
"Please, Your Majesty. Only this way will they believe."
Prince Evander threw away a pack of horse dung.
Actually the dirt was already about to throw away, but when he saw many foreign soldiers, he delayed it.
The empress who had just realized the oddity immediately flocked Prince Evandor with many questions.
"Sorry, Your Majesty, it's best that Your Majesty don't ask much first. I'm trying to save His Majesty from those soldiers."
If this is the case, Empress Rhea also chose silence. She believes her daughter's future concubine will risk her life to protect her.
Whether to protect from what, he himself did not understand, but he should not ask much, because the empress felt her kingdom was being entered by foreign soldiers.
"That's behind the building there, stop there, try not to arouse suspicion, don't make this horse sound."
Empress Rhea immediately realized the situation. The experience of being killed by Emperor Basil made him able to smell bad and dangerous gelagat.
The carriage started to walk slowly and finally stopped in front of the old building.
"Alright, now tell me, what really happened." After the carriage stopped, Empress Rhea immediately resolved her curiosity. Prince Evandor inevitably had to be honest in order for the empress to cooperate.
"So that's the story, Your Majesty. At first we thought His Majesty Alessa was dead. Emperor Diocletian provided the information. It was a lie."
Prince Evandor was relieved that Queen Rhea was now calmer knowing her daughter had survived, though grief now filled her face.
"Alessa, why are you always hit by misfortune?" sad wailing. Ever since her father died and Alessa had to ascend to the throne, her daughter's life has never been quiet.
As empress, of course she realized occupying the highest leadership of a country, must be many bad people hindered. But the other corner of her heart was not willing, at such a young age Alessa had to deal with crazy people out there.
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. Emperor Alessa was accompanied by a select crowd. The mighty Commander Darius has deployed an entire army. There is also Prince Lucas and Mr. Helios who will of course help protect His Majesty the Emperor. They all love your daughter very much."
The words of Prince Evandor made Empress Rhea's heart relieved. He should have known his daughter was surrounded by sincere people. Although the worry was not completely gone, but the Empress let out a long sigh so that her chest felt airy.
"Well Evandor, where are you taking me now?"
"To your Majesty's safe hiding place. You ready yet?"
Empress Rhea nodded.
Prince Evandor sprinted his horse again, then the train went fast.
Apparently Prince Evandor took Empress Rhea to a secret place that Darius had previously been told. One of the places used in crucial moments like this. Unexpectedly he also met with the higher-ups who were hiding.
"You're all here?" prince Evandor said with a surprised face. So did those who saw the figure that was together with Prince Evandor.
"His Majesty the Empress!" exclaimed the higher-ups and they immediately kneeled in respect. "Praise God, you're fine, Your Majesty. We're all so happy! But, the Aegis state is very dangerous for His Majesty."
"What's the matter exactly?" ask Empress Rhea.
"Emperor Judas has returned, he is allied with Eastern Europe. He informed him of the news of the fallen Emperor so that we could only resign when the throne of Emperor Alessa was taken by him. But, Prince Jerome and Lord Cicero still survive in the palace. They're trying to get things back together."
Prince Evandor nodded, he knew what to do now.
"I brought Empress Rhea back to the Aegis on the orders of Commander Darius. But it turns out that Diocletian's soldiers had taken control of the Aegis. Please take care of Her Majesty Empress Rhea until I return."
"We will look after Her Majesty Empress Rhea despite the life of the stakes. Where are you going now, Prince?"
"I still have business. Remember, no one leaves this place. This place is the safest place."
"Good, Sir. You can trust us."
"Your Majesty, I'll say goodbye first. His Majesty the Emperor should know immediately that Aegis has been overrun by the enemy."
"Beware Prince Evandor. Thank you for taking good care of me."
After leaving Empress Rhea to the higher-ups, Prince Evandor followed to the palace to help prince Jerome.
