Seeing them off, the emperor was grim. We have changed a lot, he decided. More and more, our mind becomes like the human mind. Some people who leave tonight may neglect their duties before this situation is resolved.
We are meant to rule, but in order to rule, we must be united. I will destroy the Gryphon and then use that knowledge to put an end to my other worries.
Satisfied, Gold curled up and fell asleep.
SHE'S BEAUTIFUL, amazing. A thousand words could not describe it well enough to satisfy Cabe's taste.
"Who is he?"
Kamila frowned. “We don't know. It has been threatened that he created this house. We know that she is a powerful witch.”
"You speak as if he's alive."
“See him, manling! Can't you see that he's still breathing? He's just in jail!”
He looked closer. That'sthat's true! He's breathing. Cabe swung his black sword at the three firerakes. "Take him off!"
Tegan let out a very human scream. “We didn't imprison him! He was like this when we first came here!”
Kamilla nodded quickly. "Really! We've been trying for a few seasons to get him out of jail, but we can't!”
Cabe glanced at the figure inside. The long hair that was draped in bright red was fighting in a thin emerald green dress. Silver surprises added to the staggering contrast. Her lips were almost the color of her hair, while her eyes were more compatible with her clothes. Her face was perfect; cabe found himself unable to think of any other description for it. A Dragon realm goddess, she finally half decided.
He was puzzled, because these beings before him, even with their incredible strength, were not even able to scratch the surface of the stone. What could he possibly do?
As if mocking him, the creature hiding in the forest shouted. Cabe shuddered and wondered why he still felt the urge to summon that thing to him. Thankfully, whatever it was, it could not overcome the spell that protected the manor and the grounds.
Camilla looked at him expectantly, interrupting his thoughts. “We've brought you to him. Will you leave us in peace now?”
Something in his words added a threat that shouldn't exist. Cabe observed the female reptiles. “I don't know what to do yet. Tell me what you've done to try to release it.”
Unsatisfied, they are told to use claws, force, and branches to smash windows. With the description of each of their failures, Cabe's spirit was further immersed. How could he succeed where everyone else had been defeated? He finally swung the dark sword at the crystal, although he had little hope that it would make a scratch.
It was like scraping metal with metal. Sparks of green flames flashed as the two artifacts came into contact, and the scream caused by his blade as it sank deep into the crystal prison made Cabe shiver. However, the advancement of the sword suddenly stopped, and he lost his grip on the weapon as well as his balance. As he fell, the firedrake dam let out a triumphant shout and began to change its shape. The sword remained buried within the crystal.
Falling down, Cabe was able to survive the first attack. Camilla, only half human now, made the leap for him. Even as he landed where he was before, the last remnants of his humanity disappeared. She now faces an adult firedrake, and to make matters worse, the other two sisters have now finished changing and will join the oldest for what appears to be an easy win.
There was no way he could reach the sword. He dodged when the creature that was Camilla tried to tear his chest, barely anything and took off most of his clothes.
The thing in the forest was screaming in a strange tone so Cabe almost believed that the creature was begging him to allow him to enter.
All three of the firerake were on him now. Cabe only caught a glimpse of the slowly melting prison. Not only would they kill him, but he also gave them access to the Lady.
The demand from the forest increased tenfold. Cabe had no choice and gave up. That might make it work short, but it might also end a firerake. The words came out of his mouth automatically, and he understood nothing of their meaning.
"Come in freely, son of Void!"
The cry of victory answered his orders. Three dams stopped in their tracks. The one who had previously turned around and fled, while the other two stopped, gauging their chances.
It tore through the manor, the sound of its nails on the marble like a sword hitting a rock. It cleared the inside of the building in a short period of time and crashed into the back. With another shout, it landed between Cabe and the monster.
It was blacker than anything he had ever seen. The outline is generally that of a horse, but much more so. He scavenged the ground, dug small trenches where there should be none, his eyes were not as deep red, as one might think, but icy blue, and colder than one might think.
The shout turned into a mocking laughter as it trailed the two retreating fire drakes. Even more surprising were the words that came out of his mouth. Dare and echo, expert!
“Come, sweetheart! Are you so afraid to hug a loved one? Have you forgotten so quickly that Darkhorse always finds you? Come over! Aren't the two of you going to be the first?”
The two reptiles realize that a creature named Darkhorse will catch them if they run. In desperation, they lunged simultaneously, hoping that one of them would carry out a deadly attack. Darkhorse leapt nimbly to the side and even managed to kick one of the monsters upon landing. The firedrake fell hard, stunned by the punch.
Others rise up to attack.
The black horse laughed again. “Well, it's more like that, baby! Show me a little teeth and claws!”
Even as the firedrake slashed, his opponent stood up and kicked his jaw hard. Something cracked. The dragon fell down, its mouth bent strangely into shapelessness.
The black horse laughed.
Invisible, others were conscious and attempted to claw the underside of the horse. Large and sharp, its claws were only detached from its skin. Darkhorse, still with his hind legs, descended violently above the firedrake's head. This time, the bone crack was unmistakable. The dragon snorted and became lifeless.
Blood dripped from his broken jaw, others tried to run, but the Black Horse moved so fast that Cabe could not believe it. Almost instantly, he was in front of the reptile, which could not slow down its momentum and directly dove into the horse.
As Cabe watched, the poor monster fell into the void that was Darkhorse, and, with a shout, the monster continued to fall, getting smaller and smaller. In a few moments, it completely disappeared.
The horse shouted triumphantly. Then, at a blinding speed, he darted in pursuit of the third firedrake. Cabe made no attempt to call him back. If it went far, it would suit him. He didn't know exactly what Darkhorse was, but he knew that the name was no stranger to him. He also knew that, more often than not, the creature brought death.
The incident finally caught up with him. Free from the threat of the fire drake, Cabe sank to the ground and lost consciousness.
From afar came the triumphant cry of Darkhorse.
HIGH ABOVE the Barren Land, huge creatures of predators swirled around. It was not scaled, like most nearby residents, but remained related. A bird. A bird, however, is unlike any bird ever seen, as it looks more like a human. Secretly, it landed near a large patch of grass.
The seeker folds his large wings and bends. One hairy hand touched the long green blade. The eagle's eyes watched closely as the nearby dust turned into fertile soil and then filled with tiny shoots. In all directions, especially those leading to the deepest part of the Barren Land, the terrain spread out. In death, Brown has managed to surpass his wildest dreams.
A horse, but not a horse, snorted. The Seeker pointed one of its sharp claws towards the sound. A moment later, a rider appeared. His Dragonhelm proclaimed him a firedrake, one of the King's subordinates.
The reptilian warrior rode straight to the others, but even so, the bird did not move. It stared at the firedrake with what seemed to be only light interest. The soldier, unaware of the shape in front of him, slowly turned to the right. He passed both fields and Seeker as if they were no longer there.
When the firedrake had left, Seeker once again put her hand into the grass. His pointed claws ran slowly, studying everything, and, once satisfied, the creature stood up once again, turned to and fro, and surveyed the surrounding land. In a few days, everything in sight will be green with life.
The big wings spread once again. Into the sky it rises. The seeker rotates once and then flies off.
Under him, the field continued to spread.
ANOTHER HAND, THIS ONE IS hairy, although sometimes hairy, depending on mood, of course. The hand belonged to the Gryphon, or Lord Gryphon as he was called so often, and walked slowly over a piece of smooth glass shaped like an egg.
The Gryphon is most interested in this.
“I saw a dragon, bigger than anything, speckled in color. Every color. Do you know that?" The Gryphon's voice was the roar of a proud lion, although its eagle-like face would never show that fact.
The person who called himself Simon nodded slowly, his slow response probably showing some concern. “Depth Dragon. They say he lives in the deepest part of the ocean, where water and liquid soil meet. It is believed he died long before the arrival of man.”
“Trust?”
"People never know about legends."
"No. What is it from this?” The hairy hand showed a new image, which showed a shattered skull.
"I don't recognize it, even though I feel I should."
With a wave of the hand, the image was removed. Others replaced it.
The gryphon caresses a large crystal ovoid, its eyes to the past, present, and, most importantly, the future. "Yalak's eggs are showing off today."
Simon nodded. “As the danger draws near, the crystal becomes more aligned with the multiverse.”
“I recognize this. This is the Golden room, King of Kings, greatest Dragon King.”
"He seems to be sleeping."
Gryphon nodded, his mane slightly fluttering. “The feature has softened. I suspect most of the others are the same. ”
“They have dared to take the dangerous path towards humanity. It is reflected in their form and actions.”
"For our sake, don't expect us not to do it."
The witch showed me a device known as Yalak Egg. "Change the picture again."
"Very good."
Once again, the Gryphon dissolved the image, but this time, instead of another image, only fog was visible. The gryphon looked at his friend.
"Do you bother the egg?"
"Yes. I try to focus on a specific person in the present.”
“I didn't think you could do this. After all, you haven't told me everything about yourself. ”
“I don't know myself very well. You know that."
"Indeed. My apologies."
Simon ignored. Something's going on. “I've done it. See quickly.”
“I saw a gem with some kind of statue in it.”
“It's not a statue. That's the real person.”
The gryphon looked up. "Him?"
"Yes yellow. Does it look unusual?”
"It seems to be melting."
Something unusual infiltrated the voice of the witch. Apparently pleasure. “He has done it! He set her free!"
Fading pictures.
He fell back. "I'm sorry. I can't hold that picture any longer.”
"Not saying anything." And with that, the ruler of Penacles flicked his finger. A servant, not a human, appeared out of nowhere. “Serve my guests with drinks.”
In a few moments, Simon was served with a wine cup. The witch drank the contents with one gulp, her host glared at her in amusement, as the witch was not known for her drinking ability.
Simon put down the cup and nodded in thanks. “When I found out about this Cabe Bedlam, I came to believe that he might be able to release Lady Gwen. My faith is justified.”
“And how, may I ask, did he meet her? That's not the original path.”
The witch might be smiling. “I used the service .. an old friend. He took a different path, although Bedlam did not realize it.”
“This .. friend. I don't think I would care to meet him, if he was the person I believed in.”
“Only a few want to. That's why he and I became so close.”
The gryphon shuddered, something he rarely did. Some things scare him. Darkhorse, as it is, works. He chose a different topic. "female. How long has he been stuck?”
“Since before the death of Nathan Bedlam.”
“Then the strength has been building all along. He is strong, I believe.”
“The only woman capable of enchanting the greatest Dragon Master. That's all that makes it tough, and love trumps everything, they said.”
“You stay away from my question. How about the release of strength?”
Simon leaned forward. He seemed to be deep in thought. Finally, he answered. "That would be just as great as Lady."
“What is possible to do?”
A long pause. “It will probably destroy the whole area, including Cabe Bedlam.”
