DRAGON DIVISION [Dragon Division]
Chapter 3: The Most Known Stranger

The next day -

Xu Cheng awoke, finding himself in a completely foreign environment. Alerted, he immediately sat up straight and looked around.

Lin Chuxue was wearing a green house dress, and her hair was tied into a ponytail. He poured a glass of water, put it on the table, and gently said, “You've been here before, remember?”

"Oh that's you." Xu Cheng finally sighed in relief and gently massaged his temple, “Sorry to bother you.”

Then, he got up and prepared to leave.

“Drink water first,” said Lin Chuxue indifferently, then walked into the independent space reserved for her to make music. He sat in front of the piano, and his 10 slender, snow-white fingers began to play the repertoire of his new album.

After Xu Cheng drank all the water and prepared to leave, Lin Chuxue spoke without even turning her head, “If you leave now, you will be captured by the paparazzi, and our relationship will no longer be a secret.”

Xu Cheng pouted as he walked downstairs and sat down on the sofa. On the other side sat Lin Chuxue's assistant, Lan. Xu Cheng asked Lin Chuxue, “Do you mind if I smoke?”

He didn't answer, just continued to play the piano.

The music is very soft and soothing.

With music plus cigarettes, Xu Cheng's mood was much better.

After Lin Chuxue finished playing, she turned around, glanced at him, and asked, “You came out?”

Xu Cheng nodded, “Yes, unable to enter, so I went out. I will be working in Shangcheng for now, but don't worry, we will live our own lives. I will keep my previous promise not to enter your life.”

“No need to be reminded again, you have done well for the last 3 years.” Lin Chuxue asked again, “What are you planning?”

“My basic set something for me,” replied Xu Cheng. “It will start with just a small problem about police patrol, but I will not give up on my dream.”

“I envy you still have your dreams.”

Xu Cheng knew that this woman made an indirect accusation. It was unfair for Lin Chuxue to have to marry Xu Cheng just because it was arranged by their parents before they were even born. It also disrupted many of his previous life plans, so he had no choice but to come to Huaxia to be his wife.

“I've tried to convince Uncle Lin many times in recent years, and I'm very sorry you have to marry me. But don't worry, I'll give you enough freedom and respect, and you can even ignore this whole affair of marriage in search of your true love. I know our marriage will sooner or later be revealed, which can jeopardize your career, but give me time to convince Uncle Lin and then we can get divorced soon, ” Xu Cheng said sincerely.

Lin Chuxue said nothing and just silently looked at the sheet music.

Lan's assistant at the side clearly let out a subtle mocking voice after hearing about Xu Cheng's work. In her eyes, Sister Lin's prospective marriage choice should be a rich or a powerful person, not a small policeman who had no appearance or background. It was no wonder that Sister Lin spoke to him in an indifferent tone. But speaking of indifference, Sister Lin seemed to act this way towards all the men they met.

Originally, he was planning to slightly curry favor with Xu Cheng, thinking that he might be from an amazing background. However, after learning what he was actually doing, Lan suddenly thought that she should evaluate the risks this man could pose to his boss' career. It was known that Lin Chuxue's fame was still increasing, and every minute of her daily schedule could be compared to the value of gold. In terms of net worth and salary, she was ranked at the top in the celebrity circle, and Lan inevitably suspected whether little cop Xu Cheng would blackmail her later. So, after holding back his intention for a while, he finally made a pact and placed it on the table.

Xu Cheng looked at the table and asked, “What is this?”

Lin Chuxue frowned, as did Xu Cheng.

Lan looked at him and said, “Master. Xu, even though it was very rude, but for the sake of Sister Lin's acting career, we want you to sign a confidentiality agreement to keep all of your relationships with Lin Chuxue confidential. It also outlines that in the future, you can not interfere in his career and personal life.”

“Lan!” Lin Chuxue was slightly dissatisfied.

“Saudari Lin, I have no choice. Right now you are the signature of our company, our number one celebrity. If news of your marriage were to leak out, it would be a huge blow to your acting career. You are now at the peak of your career, and we must eliminate all the risks that might bring bad effects,” Lan smiled bitterly then said in a concerned tone.

Xu Cheng laughed, and then his face sank, “You don't need to blame the matter between me and him. I was always very aware of that and I kept my word. In the past three years, I have no interest in anything related to him, and this is the second time I have come to this apartment. You and the company behind you can relax, I will not enter into his life.”

Then, he stood up and left the condo.

Lan was very upset, and she immediately spoke to Lin Chuxue, “She clearly felt guilty. We can't allow something like this, Brother Lin! If he doesn't sign this, he'll probably go back to blackmailing you when you're at the top of your career.”

Lin Chuxue did not speak, she continued to play her piano.

He was not worried, but his assistant Lan was very worried. If there was one thing that was not lacking among celebrities, it was a man like this.

“Sister Lin, I don't know what to say... Why don't you tell the company about your wedding? And if he does not sign the agreement, how will the company be confident to continue investing resources in you so that you can thrive?”

Lin Chuxue calmly played another new song, letting Lan sound as if the world was about to end. She dazzles herself with her own music, as beautiful as silent fireworks.

After she finished her song, she looked towards her assistant and asked, “Lan, do you think I'm pretty?”

“Of course, Sister Lin is the prettiest woman I have ever seen. Even among mixed-blooded people, you are at the top of the international list. Which man or woman does not want to meet you? Right now, the offer for a candlelight dinner with you has increased to 20 million! The headhunter company had already directly contacted our company, and Sister Lei had rejected all of them. It is obvious how high your net worth is for just one meal. Some female A-List celebrities are not even paid 10 million for a movie.”

Lin Chuxue smiled gently. “Oh right, did you not hear what he said before he left? For three years, he promised not to come into my life. He did, he didn't interfere in any affairs related to me. He's been here once, and he doesn't care about me to the point that he doesn't remember his last visit. Lan, I'm sure he's the one who kept his promise. Let me ask, how many men can marry me and still respect me like a guest and treat me like a stranger after three years?”

Lan fell silent.

That's also true. If it was anyone else, they would indeed lose their composure and try to force something on Lin Chuxue.

“But Sister Lin, I'm afraid she'll come back to ask you something when you're at the top of your career.” Lan frowned.

“He won't do it, don't worry.” Lin Chuxue did not seem nervous at all. He closed the lid of his piano, stood up, and said, “Do you know why you, the reporters, and the media can't find my marriage status information?”

Lan shook her head.

Lin Chuxue slowly said, “In fact, it was he who did some things and kept it a secret. It seems like he really has no feelings for me. When we first got married, he didn't force anything either. I thought he was playing a trick to loosen the reins just to understand it better, so I chose to enter the entertainment business to investigate.”

Speaking of this, Lin Chuxue smiled bitterly. “But it turns out he really doesn't care. In recent years, he's been in the army but even though he comes out occasionally, he never calls me once. We are like the most familiar strangers. But it's also good, at least we won't hate each other, and it's good for both sides.”
