Chapter 10 The Battle

Yi Fan walked through the forest quietly without any hurry. “According to the memory of the bandits, their herd headed south, isn't that the direction towards the city? Are they not afraid of being caught by guards? or are they protected by a powerful existence within the city?”

While thinking, not to forget also Yi Fan checked the situation around him because not only the enemy that he should be aware of but ferocious beasts, holy beasts, and demonic beasts that live in the forest.

“Hopefully I don't meet demonic beasts, they are just neural creatures who only know how to kill, prey and worse is that they are very sensitive.” Mumbled Yi Fan who started to be alert because he felt an unpleasant air around him.

After walking for quite a while, Yi Fan suddenly stopped his steps, he felt that he was currently being watched, instead of him being afraid just that he felt uncomfortable if he had to be watched, “Come out or I'll be at your place.” Yi Fan spoke louder as he turned to the right.

After saying this, the eve of death is very gripping increasingly felt. Yi Fan clasped his sword tightly when he saw any movement in the bushes.

The sunlight dimmed until the night finally arrived, the creature that Yi Fan was waiting for slowly began to show itself.

Under the moonlight, Yi Fan saw something darting towards him with incredible speed. “Attacks?! Bird?”  As Yi Fan was about to slash at him, he was quite surprised as it turned out to be a pitch-black eagle passing through him just like that.

The eagle flew up into the sky, its enormous wings covering some of the moonlight. Yi Fan looked at him in amazement but he did not at all relax his guard because he still did not know whether the eagle was a danger or not.

Not long after, the eagle flew down towards Yi Fan slowly. The terrifying aura emanating from the eagle was fading along with the change of its shape into a crow.

“Again? What kind of beast can change shape like that?” Yi Fan removed his hand from the sword as he sensed that the bird was not targeting him at all.

The bird circled Yi Fan 3 times and then settled right on Yi Fan's shoulder. Yi Fan glared his eyes as he sensed something attacking his soul, “Soul attack?”

Yi Fan closed his eyes and began to enter his subconscious. In his subconscious, Yi Fan could see a crow casually flying around his consciousness.

“My soul strength cannot affect him? How strong is this bird's soul to the point that my soul force alone is unable to suppress it..”.

Yi Fan's Soul Power was extremely powerful, if one tried to enter his subconscious then that person would die or at least go insane. The blood eyes were a silent witness to how powerful Yi Fan's soul was, but how could a bird that was either a crow or an eagle casually circle the consciousness of the Rude Demon.

Not long after, the crow turned into an eagle and then hit Yi Fan's consciousness to make Yi Fan forced out of his subconscious. Yi Fan bled quite a lot from his mouth, “Tsk... This damn knee-deep bird almost killed me!” He muttered while looking at the crow on his right shoulder.

Yi Fan again coughed up blood, but this time it was not something that harmed him but rather something that greatly benefited him, “The soul of this bird fused with my soul which made my soul strength grow stronger. If it's like this, maybe I can awaken the blood eye completely!”

Yi Fan laughed out loud, he looked at the crow. “So you were spying on me since just to file a life and death contract with me? If it is like that, actually you just need to ask him well and not in a brutal way like that, your behavior was almost killing me tau?”

The crow lowered its head like it felt guilty. Yi Fan smiled sinisterly. “But it's not entirely bad.”

Yi Fan thought of a fitting name with his new partner, but before that he had to make sure of something. “Actually what are you? I don't feel the aura of a demonic beast or a saint beast at all on you, but you are also definitely not an ordinary beast.”

The eagle looked at Yi Fan clumsily as if at a loss explaining how, because he himself could not speak.

Yi Fan closed his eyes and began to think of the right name for his new partner, and soon Yi Fan opened his eyes. “I found a suitable name, what if Qiu Yu?”

The crow nodded enthusiastically, he looked excited by his new name. Yi Fan chuckled at the reaction of his partner.

“Because you are now my partner, help me save a troublesome boy.”

“Wait a minute, what are your thoughts with me connected? Can you talk through your mind?” Yi Fan asked.

Qiu Yu shook his head which made Yi Fan confused. According to him, the contract with the living creatures involved the merging of souls between the two, so they shared their thoughts and feelings.

Yi Fan who realized that unconsciously awakened the souls of his two long-lost selves.

Qiu Yu looked frightened, he was reflexively flying because he felt something strange about Yi Fan. Yi Fan himself was currently staring blankly ahead, but it did not last long, for a while later his gaze returned to normal.

“Hm Mumbled Yi Fan.

Seeing Yi Fan returning to normal made Qiu Yu again perch on his shoulders. Yi Fan turned to Qiu Yu. “You feel it too don't you? There is something inside me that always takes the opportunity to take over my body when my soul is unstable

After explaining the matter Yi Fan immediately continued his mission, the incident just now was certainly out of plan and it certainly made him lose time.

The two of them moved quickly as it turned out that Qiu Yu's existence frightened the demonic as well as saint beasts they had encountered on the road. Yi Fan guessed that Qiu Yu was one of the strongest in the forest.

The two of them stopped when they found some corpses of demonic beasts and a former fireplace in his place right now. “The blood of this demonic beast is still fresh..”.

Yi Fan turned around and found 3 human corpses that he thought they were part of the bandit group he killed.

“Most likely they spent the night here, but they don't seem to know if lighting a fire in this place is the same as inviting disaster. But there was something strange with their corpses, no bite marks or some sort of wound caused by an animal attack.”.

In just a short time of observation, Yi Fan found a scar due to a snare on the neck of the three people, “Hahaha, so I see? as fair as one's heart was always that there was greed covering it, it seemed like the three of them were killed after running out of energy due to the fight against the demonic beasts.”

Yi Fan shook his head slowly, because the thing that had happened to the three people had also happened to him. Revenge is not for the dead but because the person left behind is not strong enough to withstand the grief of losing an important figure for him. It's just that people are on behalf of a form of revenge as a payment to appease the dead.

Yi Fan widened both his eyes as he sensed the Qi energy from the south, Qiu Yu also seemed to feel the same way. The two of them then moved towards the origin of that Qi energy radiance with Qiu Yu as the guide.

Qiu Yu flew low so that Yi Fan could follow him. Yi Fan who understood that immediately ran after the crow.

The faster his foot stepped the more felt the surge of Qi he felt. Yi Fan held onto his sword hilt preparing for battle as his ears caught the sound of a sword impact not far from there.
