Chapter 60. The Stubbornness in Palma

Palma De Mallorca, Spain (Before Cecilia got the news about the Star)

Shortly before Cecilia gets a call from Arion. Cecilia was gathering as usual with other noble families including the Adams Felipe Gallardo family.

"Good night aunty. How's aunty doing?"

"I'm in good shape adams. Much better than before" replied Cecilia.

"You wanna join here?" cecilia asked. Adams stood beside him as if he wanted to sit next to him.

"Sit down, if you want to join. Lionel's still on his way anyway."

"Thank you, Aunty."

"Don't be too shy of me." Cecilia doesn't seem to care much about Adams. For her right now that important Star and Lionel were happy, it was enough to make Cecilia feel even more excited to live. Especially now his grandson will give 3 great-grandchildren at once.

Cecilia continued to chat with her distant relatives who were sitting at a table with her. Suddenly, his phone rang. Cecilia immediately raised a call from Arion, Zafa's confidant.

"Yes Arion, what's wrong?"

"WHAT? Grandchild shot? How could? How was the pregnancy?" Cecilia stood up trembling to hear the unpleasant news. Adams immediately changed his face. He couldn't hide his concern for Star.

All of Cecilia's relatives approached the old woman. They seemed concerned to hear the news, although they did not hear the full conversation of Cecilia and Arion. They knew that Cecilia's granddaughter was being stricken.

"What's up with Star, Aunty?"

Cecilia looked at Adams. "Star shot. She's pregnant. That guy's really outrageous."

"Who's shooting, Star?"

"I don't know either" replied Cecilia.

"What's up, Dad? Who is Star?" ask Bethany. Adams' second son.

"Star is Grandma's grandson." Cecilia covers up the fact that Star is actually Bethany's oldest sister.

Lionel just arrived. He went straight to his mother. Lionel kissed Cecilia's forehead and cheeks for a moment. Before finally Lionel only realized if his mother's face looks anxious.

"Let's go to Toronto. Star's been shot."

"WHAT?" Lionel gasped in shock. "How can you?"

"Stop, Arion didn't tell me the details. We gotta get there, Lionel. I was afraid something bad happened to her. I've lost Arabella. Don't let me lose Star, too."

"Alright, Mom. We're going there now."

Lionel pushed his mother's wheelchair. He did not know that because of the shocking news from Arion, Cecilia could stand up.

They left the banquet hall. Adams looked at Cecilia with a hard-to-understand look. Adams decided in his heart to join Cecilia in Toronto.

"Honey, I have to follow Cecilia's aunty to Toronto. Come home with the kids."

"What's going on in Toronto?"

"Aunty's granddaughter Cecilia was shot. I've met him before. I'll go see him."

"You're not hiding anything from me, are you?" adams' wife looked at her husband full of suspicion.

"Back from Toronto I'll tell you something. Now let me go. Before aunty Cecilia went far."

"Alright, but be careful."

Adams peeked at his wife's forehead. He immediately caught up with Lionel and Cecilia who had already disappeared from the banquet hall.

Adams decided to go straight to the airport because he didn't want to miss. Adams believes Cecilia will board her private plane to visit Star.

And it's true. On Adams' arrival at the airport, he sees Lionel talking to his pilot crew. Luckily Cecilia's plane was given permission to take off, but they had to wait another 2 hours.

Adams approached Lionel. "Can I come?"

Lionel looked at Adams for a moment and then nodded. Without a word Lionel walked towards the place where his mother was waiting. Adams followed Lionel.
