THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 85's. Don't Go.
Today it seems that there are several hundred new refugees arriving, the ER triage is crowded, I am busy determining who first. While outside the soldiers were busy mobilizing and putting them in a new place.
"Susan, can you get me some food. I'll just eat here."
"You didn't have lunch with Andrew."
"No, I guess it's just here."
"Is there a problem with you?" Lately I've always had lunch with Andrew, but I think now I want to give him some space to think.
"No, I just want to eat alone." I smile. No resentment is stirring I guess, only understanding is better to let everything flow as it is.
"really?"
"Hmm right..." I smiled at Susan who was looking at my face. "Go quickly, I'm hungry, the patient's still waiting for us while the doctor's half is also resting."
"All right, I won't be long." He left after I kicked him out.
Before long, it wasn't Susan that came but Andrew. He put my food in front of me.
"You still mad at me?"
"No. Thank you for bringing me food. Have you eaten?" I kept being friendly to him.
"It has. You don't have to avoid me like this."
"I'm not avoiding you, you know where you can find me. I'm just giving you time to think." I ate immediately in front of him, there were still patients waiting. Pity those who are sick and from outside. "Patients are a lot I can't talk to you for long."
"Later we talk again."
"Yes fine."
Andrew's good. Though he can't seem to hide he's shaken to find the girl.
"You have a problem, no. Andrew seemed bothered by the fact you didn't show up at lunch." Susan's back to nudge me now.
"She met her former lover whom she had expected. It's probably the same story I met Fred. I just gave it time. No problem I guess, the problem is just choice."
"Who? D'Angelo himself said Andrew had no girlfriend. Aren't you wrong?"
"He's his girlfriend in High School."
"Gosh High School time, why should you be afraid then." He didn't see how Andrew looked at the woman."
"I'm not afraid, I just let him think. Never mind, there are many patients, we have much to do."
At dinner I met him as usual. There was no fight during dinner. I joined beside him and we chatted as usual with our friends.
"Follow me." Andrew's holding my hand now.
He took me with him to his living unit, I sat on the sofa as usual. Like it's not affected by anything. It's only been two days maybe he hasn't decided anything but yes maybe also he still doesn't realize his true feelings.
"You have no intention of asking for a break up because this little thing isn't."
"Hmm? You want to break up?" I asked him back.
"No!" He said it without hesitation.
"Yes okay. We'll keep going." I smiled lightly at him.
"You're not jealous of me, be a little angry. I'm fine." His words made me look at him, sometimes he was good, I don't doubt him. But like I said, it's just a matter of the heart.
"I don't want to cause much trouble. If you want to break up just say so. We're gonna break up." He was silent, before hugging me tightly.
"We're not gonna break up."
"okay." I'm happy, yes of course. She remains my girlfriend. Susan and James are right. The past is the past, I may be the future for him.
"Okay, your answer?" He loosened his arms and looked at me.
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Say you love me?" Questions that made me think how to
"Heavy love for the Lord Mayor. You're so good, I don't know about love. May I just say I like you, you're good, you're handsome, you're everything, I'm crying because you saw your ex-boyfriend. If I say I love you, then it comes with huge consequences, maybe a marriage like Susan and D'Angelo. I dare not say I want to have you. Let's just walk because you want it and I like it."
"Sorry, I made you cry. Don't be mad at me. I just thought he was dead, I didn't think he was alive."
"Well the problem is solved if so. Nothing to argue with."
"You're not going back to your room tonight, are you." I'm laughing a little.
"Master, you are a spoiled child."
"Let's go, I miss you. Some time I've gotten used to you being next to me."
"I'll stay."
That night everything improved again. I was in his arms again. I'm glad I didn't cry tonight. Hopefully not in front of him either.
