Interstate 40 in Hanryetta, Oklahoma.

The Interstate 40 Road. OK for Oklahoma

"Wake up! Everybody up..." Some people call midnight blind when most of us are resting. I woke up with a dizzy head.

"What!?" I saw some soldiers enter our container ward and woke us all up.

"Safety breakthrough! Danger mark, the fence in the north is broken! Keep each other until the condition is declared safe." He spoke in a low tone.

"Lock, darken the lights and keep an eye around, report on the radio if you see anything." He then came out of our ward, while a friend of mine put out the lights. I felt my revolver was still in its place.

I saw the clock on the phone, almost 1 p.m.

"My dizzy head was awakened suddenly, we seem to have to take turns keeping watch. There were eight two-shift people resting in the ward with a tight bunk bed that could fit 20 of them.

"For four people every two hours." Susan said while the others agreed. Soon we will create a group. Me, Susan was in a group with Olivia and Janet.

This area is an unsafe operating point. Infantry had only just begun combing this vast area. In this region it is estimated that many people are missing and maybe it can be said that they could be infected.

We watched the view window outside then. Try to stay awake while talking slowly.

"We're in an area that's not safe at all. It seems like this kind of thing will happen often. We've been warned." Susan spoke while whispering to me.

"You're right... But thankfully it's not us who are in the middle of the forest there." And I immediately remembered Fred who I hadn't heard from in nearly 20 days.

A few guards were seen moving in front of us. It seems they are combing the area eastward towards the refugee camp. There are only about 50 soldiers here, while the area that must be monitored is quite large even though it has been secured. And most commando officers and medic soldiers to help us.

We've been waiting an hour. When suddenly there was a figure with a staggering step walking quickly under the light of the lights away from us. Susan and I were surprised, this thing must have been hiding. But how could he damage the fence himself, it couldn't be just one.

"Report..."

"Control, we saw infected in front of the nurse's rest ward." Susan who held the radio in her hand immediately reported.

"Copy!" I immediately grabbed my gun and the flashlight ran out, before I lost track of it.

"You guard the door I'll chase and shoot him."

"Jen!" Susan's after me who opened the container door. He was heading towards the camp. I'm chasing him I don't see him anymore because it's dark.

The light of the lamp looks dim. I carefully searched for him in the dark of the night. This creature never rests.

"Jen!Not alone!" Susan pulled my hand and yelled at me by lowering her voice in annoyance while pulling my hand.

"Sorry I'm afraid of losing track of him, but we're really losing track of him now..." We looked around us that didn't see anything anymore.

"Where infected is it..." I don't see anything but darkness either. Faintly the location of the refugee camp is seen several hundred meters in front of you among the trees.

"We're going that way ..." I'm nodding. We walked side by side and covered the left and right areas with each other.

We met two soldiers who were also searching.

"We saw the infected, but we lost it in the dark."

"We haven't found it either."

We looked around and there was no movement before a shout shook us.

A tent to our left scatters a few people. Infected there.

"Someone was bitten there!" Two soldiers approached the tent while we gathered the man who had come out. The screams are still being heard

"Is there something bitten?" Everything shook their heads, but still they had to be checked to make sure they had no sign of infection.

Four shots echoed later. Make people step back with fear.

"My husband is still there, a woman with a daughter shook my arm while crying. She didn't seem to realize that her husband was in there..."

"Calm down, there are soldiers helping..." I tried to calm their cries. But if he gets badly bitten in a part of the body that doesn't allow for amputation, there's no way for us to do it other than kill him. the SOP of Operations has been clearly written even for the members of the soldiers have been notified.

Two soldiers came out and another group of guards came. The two of them came out on their own and the conclusion seemed that the man could not save.

"Donald..my husband is inside!" The woman slid into the big tent. But the soldiers blocked him.

"Mrs, you'll see it after we do the sterilization. I'm sorry but he was bitten in vital territory. We can't help him ..." Cries broke out instantly from the woman and her child, while we could only sympathize with the pain of this incident.

Several soldiers later came to assist in sterilization. And we had to herd people in a tent that was entered to be checked again if they had any injuries from the attack.

"Are you sure only two infected entered?" I asked the soldiers.

"Our search only found these two after hours." They answered uncertainly.

"You guys are fine..."James apparently heard a commotion from his rest ward. He's in a hurry to come.

"We're good,..."

"You're following the infected here?"

"Yes, we saw it."

"You're taking a big risk." He looks worried. Now I'm a little distracted if he thinks I'm the one who can't protect myself.

"Calm James. I know what I have to do. Besides this has to be done rather than us getting a victim." I patted his shoulder and passed from in front of him.

I passed from in front of him. We headed to the makeshift safe house to help inspect dozens of refugees, including the woman and her child, who were still crying.

Victim fell again tonight. If only I could shoot the infected just now, a regret flashed through my heart.

The sound of gunfire was heard later. We jerked. Infected was found again.

"One infected is paralyzed in the outer zone of the hospital ward..." A soldier's radio was beeping.

"Consideration! Heading to the north zone behind the ammunition depot. There's an infected group in the fence area." Why are there suddenly so many break-through attempts. Is there an infected group suddenly around this area.

The sound of a barrage of gunfire was heard later. The atmosphere is gripping, but we still have to be calm and alert. Letting the soldiers take control of the security in the nearly 10-acre camp or you can imagine almost 10 football fields.

Throughout the night we sometimes heard gunshots. Unbeknownst to me now I have become accustomed to now hearing gunshots.

But still I want the sun to appear soon, because darkness always leaves great danger in it.
