Part 174's. New City
Because of James' return, now Mom's surgery can be done. There are lovers, friends who will accompany us. Everything was ready, about two weeks later the operation was completed.
Although I had to recover for about two weeks but with James beside me everything was easier. Mom also has a high fighting power. The operation seems to have worked well.
Mom and I had a second chance. James was next to me to accompany me, although the economic conditions were still all pioneering after a total collapse of many years but we felt we could get through it.
Three weeks after the operation, it was back. It's going to be early in the year. According to the news we are preparing to open several food processing plants, textiles, energy source improvements early next year.
There will be a transfer of human labor from full agriculture to industry. The new safe cities will be heavily populated again.
"While we haven't been moved, there's a population explosion in El Paso, you see this hospital is very crowded right now. We're always busy because it's the only functioning hospital in town." That's good news.
"Ohh so, it's good that Mom can recover her condition calmly." Mom has to rest longer, but her condition is much better she has gone through the transplant rejection phase, just to recover her condition.
We remain in El Paso running errands until the new year. Mother has fully recovered. Everything was quiet as usual.
"We were asked to meet, but with the military..." Susan told me suddenly.
"Why do we have to meet with the military?"
"I think we're gonna be sent to the Canadian border this spring."
"Gosh?!"
"Canada has not been able to overcome their territory, we have secured the border but because of contamination from our regional borders become unsafe again. So it seems that there are three battalions from here, maybe six battalions, but the rest of them from elsewhere, will be sent to clean up Toronto."
"Good shit Toronto."
"Do you know when we're leaving?"
"Is that so."
"Yes, three more battalions will be sent under Gilbert Gillian. We'll sweep west and east in two work teams but the health team is set up at zero."
"Gilbert Gillian?"
"How did you know him?"
"Of course he's leading a great team in Florida, he's got a lot of talent, even he's found a method to speed up clean-ups in densely populated cities, he's got a reputation I guess."
"Yes he's also the head of his diplomatic attache, which means he's our leader when he enters Canada." I thought I'd see Gilbert again soon. This time in Canada.
We had a meeting later. In two weeks we will leave. We'll bring medical help, infectious medicine at once.
There was bad news at the meeting, infected in Canada may have a dangerous mutation. They have the ability to communicate with groups in a simple way, even if it is limited to an attack or dodge alarm.
