Modern Women's Charm

Modern Women's Charm
Pembusan Road

The dawn was greeted by the chirping of birds nesting in the branches of trees.

Because of its abundant population and variety, the forest is always noisy by birds greeting each other and waking the forest inhabitants.

Jean wakes up to the sound of birds chirping outside.

He stretched himself, pulling his hands up, right and left.

Jean's eyes explored and Vedis did not see the stem of his nose, even the bed of the plant tendril was no longer there.

Jean does not know when Vedis left, she opens the window and sees the refreshing morning atmosphere in the forest.

Flowers bloomed and fruits looked refreshingly sparkling as they were coated by the morning dew.

It was comfortable to live in a forest like this, but Jean remembered her sister Juno. He had to return soon because two more days were due to pay off the debt.

"Niemn...." The door opened, Vedis returned with a basket of fruits.

Jean approached and asked, saying,

"Vedis, did Valir take me back? When did he come here? "

"So soon he will come, eat this fruit first." Vedis answered after putting a basket of fruits on the table.

"Yes, thank you, but do you know where my clothes are? I can't go back in this outfit."

Jean pointed at the cloth wrapped around her chest to her knees.

"Nothing, I've thrown it away." Vedis answered indifferently.

"Why did you throw it away, then what should I wear?" Jean protested, she could not travel across debt in such a change of clothes.

"Don't blame me your clothes have been torn to pieces, just put this on, "Vedis opened his wardrobe and threw Jean a set of clothes with a material similar to the twisting cloth on his body.

The difference is that the clothes are light green blouse and dark brown trousers. It looked like the clothes were themed like trees, but fortunately Vedis also gave Jean a cloak covering along her knees in dark ash.

For shoes, Jean still wears her own shoes because Vedis does not throw away her shoes.

After breakfast some new fruits, Valir comes to pick Jean up.

"Are you ready, Jean?"

"Yes I'm ready to go." Jean answered quickly.

"Wait a minute, take this too." Vedis wrapped the fruits of her basket with cloth and tied it up and gave it to Jean.

Jean looks at Vedis with complicated eyes, she thinks Vedis is a person who doesn't like her and wants her to leave immediately, but she doesn't think she's that bad, she wants to give him provisions even clothes.

With a sweet smile Jean accepted the package, "Thank you, Vedis. See you soon."

Coming out of the Vedis house, Jean felt dizzy.

He had to pass through a large tree branch with no handle at all. He did not dare to look down or he would lose his balance right then and there.

"Wait for Valir, I can't follow your lead. I'm afraid of heights." Jean could only stare at Valir with panicked and frightened eyes.

Valir raised an eyebrow at Jean's fear of heights. He doubted whether Jean was really Vin's son.

Valir approached Jean, though,

"If you hold my hand and close your eyes, you just have to follow the pull of my hand." Valir extended his hand.

Jean hesitates, but she remembers Juno's face. He should be back soon.

Though hesitant and afraid Jean is forced to hold Valir's hand and close his eyes.

It turned out that his hand was soft and cold, but slowly the cold hand also felt warm.

In order not to be afraid Jean just imagined walking on the field, but then she felt a foothold on her feet a little strange, it felt like the footing on her feet was moving.

Moments later, bass voice Valir was heard,

"Open your eyes Jean."

Slowly Jean opened her eyes, she looked around with a puzzled face, because she was no longer on the tree trunk, her feet were now on the ground.

As Jean remembered she had only walked a few steps, how she had come down a tall tree that she could not imagine with just a few steps.

Although Jean was confused, but she was relieved there was no need to be afraid like before.

Seeing that Jean was fine, Valir took out something from behind his dark green robe.

"This I give it back to you."

"Belbid." Jean took her dagger back.

Earlier he had thought his dagger had gone missing falling down in a narrow gap.

"Thank you so much you've helped me." Once again Jean thanked Valir.

Valir replied with a flat face,

"Just keep your thanks for the next five days after reaching the human city."

Jean's eyes widened full of question marks,

"Five days! Why all that time? I should be back in three days from now."

"Can't be that fast, we need to pass through four forest areas, five days time is even included fast." Valir explained with a indifferent face.

"Why don't we go through the gap I've been through?" Jean suggested, after remembering the gap like Doraemon's door.

"What do you mean?" Valir asked back.

"The crack in the wall of the ground that was near my position passed out, when you saved me didn't you see that gap?" Jean explained with a second hand gesture describing the size of the gap.

"I saw no cracks or walls of earth, I saved you in the middle of a dense forest without any walls of earth." Valir explained with confused eyes.

"Huh? No walls of soil? but I'm only two steps out of that crack, how can I?" Jean was confused too.

A second later he recalled the thing he had experienced when closing his eyes and in just a few steps he had already set foot on the ground, it also looked similar to the gap that Jean had passed through.

Those two things were mysteries that could not be thought of with logic, so Jean did not want to get dizzy with the loss of the earth wall along with the gap.

"Is there no other way faster?" Jean asked again.

Valir rubbed his chin with his thumb, "There is another way, the path of penetration can be taken within 3 days."

"That's it, why don't we just go that way?" Jean asked impatiently.

"The problem is that the road is more dangerous and risky, it is the territory of many powerful beasts, if through that road, I cannot guarantee that I can continue to protect you, do you dare to pass through it?" Valir explained with a flat face.

The path that took five days because it twisted so much longer than the path of passage that only took a straight route which passed through the area of dangerous savage star territory.

Jean tightened her grip on the dagger in hand.

Jean must return as soon as possible, he cannot delay any longer, but the fastest way has a greater risk of danger.

Jean was worried, but considering that her sister's crying face did not want to be a slave, Jean dispelled the doubts in her heart.

"Yes, let's go down that path." Jean said with great conviction.

"Then follow me." Valir leads the way ahead.
